After winning the toss, West Indies captain Daren Sammy decided to bat first. West Indies scored 152 in 20 overs with Kieron Pollard leading the score table on 49 not out. Dwane Bravo and Marlon Samuels scored 25 each. Zulfiqar Babar (3), Mohammad Hafezz (2) and Mohammad Irfan (1) were leading wicket takers for Pakistan.
Pakistan’s reply was aggressive but they kept on losing too many wickets. Umar Amin played a great knock but fell short of his half century. Then came the Boom Boom Afridi starting his inning with a huge six. He dominated the West Indian batsmen till the end but just like Umar Amin, he fell short of his century. In the meantime, he also became world’s first batsman to hit 400 sixes in International Cricket. The match got even exciting when Saeed Ajmal got run out and Pakistan needed 1 off 1 ball. Then, the new comer Zulfiqar Babar secured a win for Pakistan with a straight six. The series is led by Pakistan with 1-0. The 2nd T20 will be played tomorrow at the same venue.
