Pakistan will be looking to bounce back to winning ways as they face Zimbabwe in their second Super-12 match at the Perth Stadium.
Zimbabwe leads Pakistan in the group table after the latter was defeated by India by four wickets at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The two teams are facing each other in a T20 World Cup for the very first time.
While Pakistan lost their first game against India, Zimbabwe’s match was called off due to rain, forcing the team to share points with South Africa. Pakistan and Zimbabwe have played 17 Twenty20 Internationals against each other, with Pakistan winning 16 and Zimbabwe winning just one.
The green shirts have lost only one of the 17 T20 Internationals they have played against Zimbabwe, and that was last year in a bilateral series in Harare. Though Pakistan looks relatively stronger than Zimbabwe, Babar and the company must remain on guard given the highly unpredictable nature of T20 cricket.
With the cover of dark clouds over Perth, the conditions will be cold and chilly during the game. The match is scheduled to start at 4:30 PM IST.
