Shahadat Hossain jailed

Bangladesh fast bowler Shahadat Hossain has been jailed for torturing his 11-year old housemaid.

According to a local newspaper, Shahadat went missing after the torture incident but he handed himself to the police a day after his wife was arrested.

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has suspended him from all forms of domestic and international cricket.

His lawyer told media that he had submitted a bail plea before surrendering which was rejected by court.
