The 2nd match of ICC Champions Trophy 2013 was played between Pakistan and West Indies in Sophia Gardens. After winning the toss, West Indies decided to put Pakistan into batting. Pakistan’s start was devastating. They lost Imran Farhat and Mohammad Hafeez too early. Nasir Jamshed and the skipper Misbah ul Haq provided some hope for Team Green but Nasir Jamshed also got out right after scoring his half century. After that, no single Pakistani batsman except the skipper himself could get into the double figures. Pakistan got all out on 170. Misbah ul Haq remained not out on 96. Kemar Roacha and Suni Narine took 3 wickets each. Dwayne Bravo and Ravi Rampaul took 1 wicket each.
In reply, West Indies also lost two early wickets both of which were taken by Mohammad Irfan. Chris Gayle made the highest score of 39 before Saeed Ajmal clean bowled him. Marlon Samuels and Kevin Pollard scored 30 each. The match went on Pakistan’s side at a few stages but in the end, West Indies won for two wicket. Muhammad Irfan took 3 wickets. Saeed Ajmal and Wahab Riaz took 2 each.
