The El Classico of cricket – Pakistan vs India – Super 10 match of ICC Cricket World Cup 2016 was played on 19th March, 2016 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. The match kicked off with respective national anthems sung by Amitabh Bachchan and Shafqat Amanat Ali Khan.
The match was delayed due to rain and hence match was reduced to 18 overs per side. After winning the toss, Dhoni 11 decided to take advantage of the pitch and put the neighbors to bat.
Pakistan started really slow. Both Sharjeel Khan and Ahmed Shahzad could not give Pakistan a solid start. Pakistan managed to out a target of 119 runs – thanks to 22 of 16 from Umar Akmal and 24 of the same amount of deliveries from Shoaib Malik.
In reply, India chased the target with 13 balls remaining. Virat Kholi (55) and MS Dhoni (13) remained not out.
