Another world record for Fakhar Zaman as he scores fastest 1000 runs in ODI cricket

Days after Fakhar Zaman became the first ever Pakistani batsman to score a double hundred in one-day internationals, the left-hand batsman has now become broken the record of fastest 1000 runs in ODI cricket.

Fakhar Zaman achieved the milestone during the fifth and final ODI against Zimbabwe being played at Bulawayo. He was dismissed on 85, just 15 short of another century in the series.

Pakistan has already won the ODI series against Zimbabwe by 4-0 and eyeing a clean sweep.

Fakhar Zaman has achieved this record off just 18 innings. The first player to reach fastest 1000 runs in ODI cricket was the legendary Sir Viv Richards in 1980. It took him 21 innings, something equaled by Kevin Pietersen, Jonathan Trott, Quinton de Kock and Babar Azam.
