Zafar Gohar is a Pakistani cricketer. He began his journey representing Pakistan at the 2008 under-15 World Championships and was part of two under-19 World Cups. He finished as Pakistan’s second highest wicket taker in the 2014 Under-19 World Cup.
Within two years of this he had represented Pakistan in ODIs and had been selected for Pakistan’s Test team, missing out on playing for rather unique reasons.
A handy lower order batsman, Zafar has made a name for himself in the army of left arm spinners that dominate the domestic limited overs game. In the 2016/17 season he finished with a List A average of 23.5 while going at just 4.62 an over. He has missed most of 2017 due to a shoulder injury.
In the T20 game, he finished PSL 1 as Lahore Qalandars’ highest wicket taker but was shunted aside for the second edition after the signing of Sunil Narine and the return of Yasir Shah. PSL 3 will be his first season with Islamabad United.
