Forbes has issued names of 100 richest athletes on the planet. Only one cricketer has made it to the list of world’s highest paid athletes. No Sachin Tendulkar, not Chris Gayle not Shahid Afridi, it’s the Indian skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. He is placed on 22nd in the list with total earnings of USD 30 million and endorsements worth USD 26 million. According to an Indian news blog, the earning figures include salaries, bonuses, prize money, appearance fees, as well as licensing and endorsement income paid out between June 2013 and June 2014. 

Other athletes in the list includes golfer Tiger Woods, Real Madrid and star Portugal footballer Cristiano Ronaldo, American basketball player LeBron James, tennis stars Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal. American boxer Floyd Mayweather is ranked on the top who earned USD 105 million during the past year for 72 minutes of work in the ring for fights against Canelo Alvarez and Marcos Maidana.
