His franchise on Thursday gave a statement that the all-rounder of the team Quetta Gladiators has tested positive for Covid-19 and will be refrained from at least the first four initial matches of the team in PSL 2022.
Shahid Afridi had tested positive in June 2020 when he got himself involved in some relief work in the early pandemic era. And now again, he must undergo isolation at his home instead of the designated area as per special permission given to him by the Pakistan Cricket Board until test negative again.
On Twitter, he said for his fans:
I have unfortunately tested positive but have no symptoms at all. InshALLAH hope to recover soon, test negative and rejoin QG as soon as possible. Good luck to all teams in #HBLPSL7 I’m committed to giving it my all in my last PSL edition. pic.twitter.com/wCiEb5laZS

Afridi did not show the symptoms of the disease, said the administration.
According to TheNews, a day earlier, Afridi had requested the franchise management to release him just for one day before the start of the PSL due to medical and personal reasons. Afridi had told the management that he was suffering from back pain and his sister-in-law had passed away.
He also said that this will be his final PSL as announced last year and he wants to have a hands-on trophy like in 2017 he had with Peshawar Zalmi.
